Career highlights have included Pinkerton in MADAMA BUTTERFLY with Sarasota Opera, New York Grand Opera, Metro Lyric Opera, and New Jersey's Bohème Opera Company; Don José in CARMEN with Oswego Opera, Teatro Lirico d'Europa, Lafayette's Acadiana Symphony, and Metro Lyric Opera; Ricardo Martin in the zarzuela EL BARBERO DE SEVILLA and Rafael in the zarzuela LA DOLOROSA with Teatro Nuevo México at Santa Fe's Lensic Theater; Luigi in IL TABARRO with Israel's International Institute of Vocal Arts; the Italian Tenor in a preview performance of DER ROSENKAVALIER with the New Israeli Opera; Cavaradossi in TOSCA with New York Grand Opera; LA TABERNERA DEL PUERTO with Anchorage Opera; Rodolfo in LA BOHÈME with Teatro Lirico d'Europa; Edgardo in LUCIA DI LAMMERMOOR and Rodolfo in LA BOHÈME with Milan's International Vocal Arts Institute; Alfredo in LA TRAVIATA with Verismo Opera New Jersey and Treasure Coast Opera; and the Duke in RIGOLETTO with New Rochelle Opera. Mr. Trejo has also appeared with Austria's Bregenzer Festspiele in Kurt Weill's operetta DER KUHANDEL; as a member of the International Opera Studio with the Opernhaus Zurich; on tour with Santa Fe Opera in their production of LA DOLOROSA; and with Mexico's Palacio de Bellas Artes. Concert highlights have included Rodolfo in LA BOHÈME with New York Grand Opera; LA PROMESA DEL GUERRERO with the Symphony of the Americas at New York City's Town Hall (a work that was written specifically for Mr. Trejo by Ernesto Villalobos); appearances with Opera Orchestra of New York at Carnegie Hall; both the VERDI REQUIEM and an OPERA GALA with New York's Gateway Classical Music Society; appearances with Mexico's Orquesta Filarmónica de Acapulco, the Orquesta Sinfónica de Ciudad Juárez, the Festival Internacional de Música de Morelia, and at the Sala Nezahualcóyotl; and additional appearances at Venezuela's Sala Eduardo Carreño with the Manhattan School of Music Symphony, at the Kodak Theater in Los Angeles, and with the Symphony Orchestra of Luzern. Mr. Trejo was also the recipient of the Plácido Domingo Encouragement Grant and the Panasonic Scholar of the Year Award.
