Nathan Schafer “a beautiful tenor” has captivated audiences and critics alike with his “strong clear tenor voice” and his ability to sing with “clarity and warmth” (Ladue News in St. Louis).
 

This season Mr. Schafer was a resident artist at Teatro Nuovo in New York City where he covered & performed the role of Macduff in

Verdi’s original 1847 version of Macbeth. He was recently he was the tenor soloist in Beethoven’s 9th symphony with the
Southwest Florida Symphony and performed Erster geharnischter Mann in Die Zauberflöte with Opera Naples. Mr. Schafer also covered the role of Pinkerton in Madama Butterfly at Austin Opera. 

 

In 2024 Mr. Schafer made his New York debut as Rinuccio in Gianni Schicchi at Finger Lakes Opera. He has performed Rodolfo in La bohème, Alfredo in La traviata and Ferrando in Così fan tutte all at Shreveport Opera. Mr. Schafer made his professional debut in the role of Ruggero in Puccini’s La rondine at Winter Opera of St. Louis. In 2022 Mr. Schafer was a member of the prestigious Bonfis-Stanton Apprentice Artist Program at Central City Opera where he covered & performed the role of Alfred in Die Fledermaus.

 

Mr. Schafer is a member of Andrea DelGiudice’s voice studio in New York City and pursued his vocal studies at the University of North Texas. Mr. Schafer has performed with prominent opera houses such as The Dallas Opera, Opera San Antonio, Tulsa Opera, and Fort Worth Opera.
